CoalTek’s process itself is also environmentally benign. The only effluent resulting from our process is low-grade steam. CoalTek recovers the waste heat in this effluent stream, increasing process efficiency and creating a steady source of irrigation-quality water. Unlike all other coal-based uses, the CoalTek process actually produces water rather than consuming large quantities of water. This is an added advantage for coking facilities, power plants, or coal conversion facilities, and often provides benefits to the communities surrounding these facilities.
